Our 2017 CSA Campaign is Coming Together. 26 weeks of top notch produce May through November and available for pick-up at our farm in Downingtown, our market stand in Malvern, or a satellite pick-up in Kennett Square, West Chester and Bala Cynwyd. We love our work and your participation sustains our business.

  • Satellite pick up in Bala Cynwyd (Conshohocken State Rd and City Ave) Thursdays 3:30-6:30 (Half Shares Only)
  • Satellite pick up in West Chester Thursdays 3-7 (Half Shares Only)

We strive to offer customers a product that is first in quality, value, and flavor. While not certified organic, we practice agriculture that goes beyond current commercial standards. Our philosophy focuses on healthy plants, living soils and diverse habitat. These principles create a biological balance and are our primary defense against pests.

When considering a vegetable subscription with Down to Earth Harvest, it is important to understand the nature of that commitment. Some members prefer to split a full share, that way they have weekly freshness and a partner to share pick-up responsibility with, convenient if you have an irregular schedule.

In The Share

Members can expect to receive 7-9 items per week, best quantified as two grocery bags of produce. During the season we include products from other local farms to expand variety  including – Peaches from Frecon Farms, Cremini Mushrooms from Joe and Ben Cordinvano, Gold Rush Apples from Rex Orchards, Garlic from Frank Wheatland, Shitake/Oyster Mushrooms from Phillips Mushrooms.We will send out a newsletter before each pick-up that informs members of what they will receive in their share and offer a few recipe ideas.

Spring Harvest – Lettuce, peas, baby greens, kale, beets, chard, carrots, spring onions, bok choi, radishes, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, dandelion, cabbage, cilantro

Summer Harvest – Lettuce, onions, corn, melons, tomatoes, basil, garlic, eggplant, cucumbers, summer squash (zucchini), potatoes, chard, peppers, parsley, beans

Fall Harvest – Lettuce, peppers, beets, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, chard, spinach, winter squash, shallots, leeks, potatoes, baby greens, brussel sprouts, celery

Make-up a missed pick-up 

For anyone who, with 24-hour notice, missed a pick-up we offer alternate options including a Friday Happy Hour pick-up (4-6pm), an off-week pick-up for half shares, a double share make-up at members discretion or members can choose to come by the Farm the Tuesday before Thanksgiving for an extended season share. Just be sure to reach out and we’ll accommodate your schedule. 

Payment

We ask for a $200 deposit with the balance paid in full by/at first pick-up. Folks can send a check by mail or use Google Wallet to make payment. We do appreciate full payment at sign up. We are flexible with payment options on a case-by-case basis. Just let us know what payment schedule works for you and we can accommodate.

Discounts

Every Member gets a discount when they join up. At $335 and $635 all members receive a good value for their dollar. At Down to Earth Harvest we supply a moderate share over a long season. We aim to find that sweet spot in quantity every week because nobody likes to see food go unused. Our guideline is to include $25-$30 of food value each week to our members. That’s over $700 in groceries for every full share, a fair shake on both ends.
